Drama League and Mary Zimmerman's Metamorphoses for Circle in the Square on Broadway. They have received a Lortel nomination, a Jeff Award, five Jeff Citations and L.A. Ovation and Drama Critics Circle Awards for music and sound. Andre is an artistic associate of Lookingglass Theatre Company. Some current projects include A Play About the Baby at the Goodman, Cyrano with Court/Redmoon Theatres, The Secrets in the Wings and Great Men of Science with Lookingglass, Our Lady of 121st Street at Steppenwolf and Winesburg Ohio, a new musical with About Face and Steppenwolf Theatre.

I Am My Own Wife: Based on a true story, and inspired by interviews conducted by the playwright over several years, I AM MY OWN WIFE tells the fascinating tale of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, a real-life German transvestite who managed to survive the Nazi onslaught as well as the following, repressive Communist regime. The one-man play stars Obie-Award winner Jefferson Mays as over 40 characters, including the controversial figure herself and the American writer who becomes intrigued by her.
